KC7 Foundation Honored with Fayette County Public Schools 2025 Golden Apple Award

Lexington, KY — September 12, 2025 — KC7 Foundation is proud to announce that it has been awarded the 2025 Golden Apple Award by Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS), recognizing superior community partnership, innovation in education, and exceptional support for student learning.

The Golden Apple Awards are presented annually by FCPS in conjunction with the Fayette Education Foundation during the State of Schools Leadership Breakfast. The awards honor individuals and organizations whose time, energy, and expertise have made a measurable difference for students across the district.

KC7 Foundation’s Contributions Recognized

FCPS recognized KC7 Foundation under the Business/Industry category for its outstanding work in making complex educational content both engaging and accessible for students. Among its celebrated initiatives:

• Designing and implementing gamified learning experiences in fields such as data analysis and cybersecurity to motivate students and simplify complex subject matter.
• Providing comprehensive training guides and teacher support materials to help integrate cybersecurity education into classrooms and core curricula.
• Fostering a culture of innovation and leadership among students, helping prepare them for technology-driven future career paths.

Receiving the Award

Bryan Quillen, a key KC7 volunteer and Fayette County teacher at The Hill, was present to receive the award on behalf of the foundation.
