Blain Hailemariam

Blain is an aspiring cybersecurity professional and is pursuing a Master’s in Cybersecurity Risk Management at Georgetown University (Go Hoyas!).

On KC7, she climbed the leaderboard and gained hands-on experience investigating simulated cyber intrusions through log analysis. Now, she helps others discover cybersecurity the same way, by developing interactive training, co-hosting workshops, and representing KC7 at events like Black Hat. With certifications, home lab projects, and CTF experience, Blain shows that cybersecurity skills grow through play, practice, and persistence.

Beyond school and work, she volunteers as an IT Specialist for a Volunteer Fire Department, supports cybersecurity conferences, and encourages volunteerism through ServeCyber.org, which connects others to cyber volunteer opportunities.
